Croatian Telecommunications Union (HST) and the Republic Workers' Union (RSR) on May 13, 2026 organized a thematic workshop \"EU regulations for companies: public procurement, minimum wages and digital EU company through the 28th regime\". The workshop was held at the Waldinger Hotel in Osijek with the possibility of online participation, which enabled the inclusion of a larger number of union representatives and participants from different cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central part of the program was an online video conference with UNI Europe representatives, during which key European initiatives and legislative frameworks that will have a significant impact on labor relations and the protection of workers' rights were presented. Participants were introduced to public procurement rules in the European Union and examples of good practice and challenges in ensuring the protection of workers through contracts with the public sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special attention was paid to the Directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union, its impact on working conditions, collective bargaining and the role of unions in protecting employees' rights. News related to the concept of the 28th regime (EU Inc.) and the digital European company were also presented, with an emphasis on the harmonization of corporate, labor, tax and bankruptcy law and the possible effects of these changes on the position of employees and trade union activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final part of the workshop, a discussion was held during which participants asked questions, exchanged experiences from their work environments and discussed the possibilities of further joint action in monitoring and implementing European regulations governing the field of labor and social dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop once again confirmed the importance of continuous information and education of trade union representatives on current European legislative initiatives and the need for international cooperation in the protection of workers' rights and strengthening social dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
