In March 2026, prices of goods and services for personal consumption increased by 4.8% year-on-year

Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, in March 2026 compared to March 2025 (on an annual basis) were on average 4.8% higher, and compared to February 2026 (on a monthly basis) by 1.4%.

Observed according to the main groups of the ECOICOP classification, ver. 2, on an annual basis, the highest average increase in consumer prices was achieved in the groups Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, by 11.1% (contribution to the increase of +1.67 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, by 7.5% (+0.37 percentage points), Transport, by 7.0% (+0.98 percentage points), Restaurants and accommodation services, by 6.0% (+0.33 percentage points), Recreation, sports and culture, by 4.4% (+0.17 percentage points), Personal care, social protection and various goods and services, by 3.7% (+0.19 percentage points), Health, by 3.6% (+0.10 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, by 3.3% (+0.89 percentage points), Information and communication, by 3.2% (+0.19 percentage points), and Insurance and financial services, by 2.9% (+0.06 percentage points). The annual price increase was mitigated by a price decrease in the groups Clothing and footwear, by 2.4% (contributing to the decrease of -0.17 percentage points), Educational services, by 1.6% (-0.01 percentage points), and Furniture, home equipment and regular household maintenance, by 0.3% (-0.02 percentage points).
 
Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonized consumer price index, in March 2026 compared to March 2025 (on an annual basis) were on average 4.6% higher. Compared to February 2026 (on a monthly basis), they were on average 1.2% higher.
