The Republic Workers’ Union was founded on October 16, 2010, under the name Croatian Telecommunications Workers’ Union (abbreviated as "SRHT"), with its headquarters at Trg sv. Florijana 2 in Križevci. The union was established by employees of HT – Croatian Telekom (Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d.) from across the entire Republic of Croatia. Republican Union of Workers gathers members in more than a hundred companies from various industries in the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The most represented members are from the sectors of telecommunications services, postal services, kindergartens, communal activities, security (protection of persons and property), agriculture and forestry, games of chance, banking and insurance services, wholesale and retail trade, cleaning and maintenance, etc.
